Indonesia: Pertamina to Continue with LNG Terminal Plan

Indonesia’s state-owned oil company PT Pertamina will continue with the plan to build a floating LNG receiving terminal in Central Java, reports Bloomberg.

The terminal will have a capacity of 3 million metric tons of LNG a year.

“We will try to meet the government’s order of getting the Central Java floating terminal to go on stream by 2014,”  Hari Karyuliarto, the company’s gas director, told reporters of Bloomberg in Jakarta today.

Indonesia is increasing consumption of natural gas to reduce petroleum use and cut fuel subsidies.
