InterOil: drilling starts at Antelope-6

InterOil informed that Total E&P PNG, the operator of the Petroleum Retention License 15 in the Gulf Province of Papua New Guinea, has begun drilling the Antelope-6 appraisal well. 

The well, located about 2 km east-south-east of Antelope-3 is intended to provide structural control and reservoir definition on the field’s eastern flank, according to InterOil’s statement.

Antelope-6 has a proposed total depth of around 2,464 meters and is part of the appraisal program to define the resource for the Papua LNG project.

Major partners in the PRL 15 joint venture, Total E&P PNG (40.12 percent,) InterOil (36.53 percent) and Oil Search (22.83 percent), are considering an additional appraisal well on the western flank of the Antelope field that could add an incremental volume of 1 to 3 Tcfe.
