IOC to utilize expanded Dahej LNG terminal capacity

Indian Oil Corporation is reportedly aiming to continue importing a minimum of two cargoes of liquefied natural gas each month following the recent expansion of the Dahej LNG terminal. 

India’s largest importer of liquefied natural gas, Petronet LNG, recently informed the regasification part of the expanded Dahej LNG terminal has been commissioned is under stabilization.

The company began additional gas send-out from the facility that has been expanded from 10 mtpa to 15 mtpa.

Reuters reports, IOC’s business development director, Debasis Sen as saying the company is looking to continue importing LNG to utilize the expanded capacity of the terminal.

According to the report, IOC acquired two additional cargoes through a tender process.

Petronet LNG expects to commission the remaining part of the expansion project, the two LNG storage tanks by October 2016.
