Iran: Gas Exports Up 10.5 Percent

Iran has exported 7.6 billion cubic meters of its natural gas since the beginning of the current Iranian calendar year (which started on March 21, 2011), managing director of the National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC), Javad Owji announced.

He went on to say that, the exports show 10.5 percent growth compared to the same period last year, IRNA reported.

In the same period, Iran has also imported some 9 billion cubic meters of natural gas, which show a 35 percent increase compared with last year.

He noted that the country’s average daily gas production amounted to 620 million cubic meters.
