Iran, Oman Ink MoU on Gas Exports

Iran and Oman signed a Memorandum of Understanding on gas exports to Oman.

Iranian minister of petroleum, Bijan Namdar Zanganeh and his Omani counterpart signed the MoU during Iranian president Hassan Rouhani’s visit to Muscat, Iran’s SHANA news agency reported.

Speaking to the reporters, Iranian minister of petroleum said that the gas will be pumped through a pipeline that will run all the way from the southern Iranian province of Hormuzgan to Oman’s Sohar port.

“Under the gas deal, Iran will export 10 billion cubic meters of gas per year to Oman,” he said, adding the project is expected to come on stream within three years.
