Iran rejects Saudi claims on Arash gas field

Ali Majedi, Iranian Deputy Oil Minister for International and trade affairs, rejected Saudi Arabia’s claim on Arash gas field in the Persian Gulf.

Majedi told the Fars News Agency that “Arash is a joint gas field between Iran and Kuwait and Saudi Arabia does not have any share in this field.” It was a response to allegations made by some Saudi officials claiming that Saudi Arabia had a share in Arash gas field.

Tasnim News Agency report Mohammad Baqer Soleimini, director of production affairs at Iranian Offshore Oil Company saying: “Such claim is not true and whoever has proposed such an issue has made groundless remarks.”

Arash gas field is located on the border between Iran and Kuwait with an estimate gas reserve of one trillion cubic feet along with some 310 million barrels of oil.
