Iraq Mega Projects Conference to Focus on Iraq’s Oil Production

The fourth edition of the Iraq Mega Projects Conference and Exhibition organised by the CWC Group will open its doors on 1 October 2013 at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre Sheikh Maktoum Hall.

The two-day event, held under the patronage of H.H Sheikh Mohammed bin Maktoun bin Juma Al Maktoum, will gather investors and speakers associated with Iraq’s oilfield production to create the region’s most powerful platform for spurring investment in the Iraqi oil and gas industry.

Iraq Mega Projects has released a topical schedule of talks and seminars for its conference, focused on project and infrastructure solutions in support of oilfield production in Iraq. Topics of discussion include; the scope of hydrocarbon projects in Iraq, infrastructural development of oil fields and best practice when shipping goods across the Basra port. The conference offers real world case studies to give attendees market intelligence and access to best practice solutions.

Some speakers of note at the conference include H. E. Dr Adnan Janabi, Chairman of the Oil & Gas Committee, Federal Parliament of Iraq, Ali Al-Mashat, Advisor – Advisory Commission, Iraq Prime Minister’s Office, H.E. Ali Daway Lazim, Governor of Maysan, Iraq; Omar Moussa, Vice President Iraq Schlumberger; and Ghassan Ashqar, Senior Vice President, Business Development, SNC Lavlin.

The CWC Group has also announced a series of province breakfasts to boost upstream investment and infrastructure solutions that will in turn increase export capacity in the South of Iraq by focusing on the needs of specific provinces. On 2 October 2013, Governor of Missan province H.E Dawai Ali Lazim will host the Missan Breakfast. The province has begun construction of the second phase of its Halfaya oil field project. The Halfaya field offers estimated reserves of 4.09 billion barrels.

A simultaneous technology showcase will have 100 companies showcasing their expertise, products and services to 4,000 visiting project managers, purchasing managers and senior decision-makers. It is designed for International Oil Companies (IOCs) and National Oil Companies (NOCs) to source the latest technologies and services required to hit project goals and production targets.
