Israel: FLNG Import Terminal Gets Shipment

FLNG Import Terminal Gets Shipment

Israel’s first floating liquefied natural gas terminal has received a shipment of LNG from BP, thus starting its commercial operations, local media reported.

Energy officials at the launching ceremony held on January 24 hailed the floating LNG import terminal as capable of relieving Israel’s gas shortage until the onset of the Tamar reservoir this April, but also said the terminal would remain a key component to the country’s energy security future.

The floating terminal has an annual capacity of 2.5 billion cubic meters of gas.
