Jack-up Atwood Beacon gets six more months with Eni

Atwood Oceanics, Inc., offshore drilling contractor, has reached an agreement for a six-month extension of its existing contract, with a revised day rate, with Eni S.p.A. for the jack-up rig, the Atwood Beacon.

The Atwood Beacon started its initial two-year drilling services contract with Eni on December 24, 2013, for operations offshore Italy.

The agreement revises the day rate to €117,155 ($129,200), inclusive of equipment upgrade costs, from €135,100 ($149,000) beginning March 1, 2015 and extends the Atwood Beacon’s firm commitment from December 24, 2015 through June 2016.

The Atwood Beacon is an independent leg cantilever jack-up drilling rig built in 2003.

Atwood Oceanics currently owns 12 mobile offshore drilling units and is constructing two ultra-deepwater drillships.
