Jamaica: Government Shortlists Bidders for LNG Import Project

The Jamaican government has shortlisted the companies qualified for the second round of bidding to supply LNG to the country, chairman of the LNG Steering Committee, Christopher Zacca said.

Zacca said the shortlisted companies have already been notified, but he declined to comment on the number and the name of companies participating in the second round, Jamaica Gleaner reported.

Six companies submitted bids for Jamaican LNG supply project: Shell International Trading Middle East; U.S. Pace Global and Morgan Stanley; Japan’s Marubeni Corporation; Spain’s Gas Natural Aprovisionamientos, and Repsol Comercializadora de Gas.

Jamaica plans to start importing LNG in 2014.
