The contract, involving the works on the electrical and automation systems on board the Jan De Nul’s fleet, got underway in 2020 and will run for three years.

According to their official announcement, Alewijnse will be one of the preferred suppliers to maintain their navigation, communication and automation solutions, along with associated electrical services and materials during the period of the agreement.

“With its advanced technical solutions, Alewijnse will contribute to the commitment to high quality and low risk that characterizes Jan De Nul projects,” the Nijmegen based systems integrator said.

“Maximum environmental, safety, productivity and reliability benefits are key features of Alewijnse’s in-house products and proven dredging solutions (AlViVi, ADLS & ASTS), along with robust hardware and advanced software. Further economies are delivered by the application of the company’s in-house engineering and the production of consoles and cabinets in the Netherlands, Romania and Vietnam.”

The past delivery of similar systems to several new-build trailing suction hopper dredgers (TSHDs) and offshore vessels for the Jan De Nul fleet enabled Alewijnse to gain extensive in-field experience of working with the company and to become familiarized with Jan De Nul’s design philosophy and project execution protocols.
