Japan: Aug LNG Imports Climb

Japan’s LNG imports reached 7.32 million tonnes in August, a rise of 2.4 percent compared to July, according to data released by the finance ministry.

The average LNG import price for Japan was $17.79/mmBtu in August.

The country’s monthly LNG imports have been rising steadily year on year, due to the devastating earthquake and tsunami in March 2011.
