Japan: IHI Wins LNG Tank Order fom Tohoku

IHI Corp. said yesterday it will build two 160,000 m3 LNG tanks and auxiliary facilities at Tohoku Electric Power Co.’s thermal power plant in Sendai.

The LNG receiving facilities will supply gas to a new combined cycle power generation system to be newly built at the power plant.

IHI has over 40 years of experience in LNG receiving terminals since the first LNG terminal project was started in Japan.

Currently IHI has taken part in 126 LNG tanks and 35 terminals worldwide.
