Japan: October LNG Imports Climb

Japan’s LNG imports reached 6.67 million tonnes in October, a rise of 8.3 percent compared to the year before, according to data released by the finance ministry.

Japan, the world’s biggest LNG consumer, imported 7.13 million tonnes in September, up 6.3 percent compared to the year before.

The country’s monthly LNG imports have been rising steadily year on year, due to the devastating earthquake and tsunami in March 2011.
