Japan power companies use less LNG in November

Liquefied natural gas (LNG) use by Japan’s power companies declined by 6.5 percent in November, as compared to the same month a year ago, the preliminary data from the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry shows.

The power companies consumed 4.27 million tonnes of LNG in November as compared to 4.56 million tonnes in the same month last year.

When compared to the month before, LNG usage by the power companies rose 8.2 percent.

LNG purchases by the power companies in November were at 4.69 million tonnes – showing a decline of 5.5 percent on year and an increase of 21.7 percent as compared to the previous month, the data shows.
