Japan power companies use less LNG in Oct

Liquefied natural gas (LNG) use by Japan’s power companies dropped by 4.2 percent in October, as compared to the same month a year ago, the preliminary data from the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry shows.

The power companies consumed 3.94 million tonnes of LNG in October as compared to 4.12 million tonnes in the same month last year.

When compared to the month before, LNG usage by the power companies rose 2 percent.

LNG purchases by the power companies in October were at 3.86 million tonnes – showing a drop of 12.1 percent on year and a decrease of 2 percent as compared to the previous month, the data shows.
