Japan: Utilities Dec LNG Usage at 5.27 Million Tonnes

The ten regional electric power companies in Japan consumed 5.27 million tonnes of LNG in December, up 4.2 percent compared to December of 2012, according to the Federation of Electric Power Companies of Japan (FEPC).

The power companies bought 5.42 million tonnes of LNG in December, a rise of 7.8 percent compared to December of 2012.

Power companies account for two-thirds of total Japanese LNG imports.
