Japan: Utilities July LNG Usage Climbs YoY

The ten regional electric power companies in Japan consumed 4.72 million tonnes of LNG in July, compared with 4,5 million tonnes a year earlier, according to the Federation of Electric Power Companies of Japan (FEPC).

The power companies received 5,1 million tonnes of LNG in July, a rise of 11.7 percent on year.

The companies consumed 4,26 million tonnes of LNG in June, a year-on-year rise of 5.7 percent.

Power companies account for two-thirds of total Japanese LNG imports.
