The average price of spot-LNG imported into Japan that was contracted in September 2017 reached $6.9 per mmBtu, according to the data provided by Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry.

The contract-based price rose 19 percent from $5.8 per mmBtu in August when it was at its five-month high, the data shows.

The arrival-based price has also shown an increase from $5.6 per mmBtu in August to $5.8 per mmBtu during the month under review, 3.5 percent increase.

Only spot LNG cargoes are taken into account in this assessments, excluding short, medium and long-term contract cargoes, as well as those linked to a particular price index.
