KBC Names New CEO

KBC, a consultancy and software provider to the upstream and downstream hydrocarbon industries, has appointed Andrew Howell as Chief Executive Officer with effect from 1 January 2015.

Ian Godden, currently Executive Chairman, will return to his role as Non-Executive Chairman of the Board.

Andrew Howell has 20 years’ in depth knowledge of operating software in the hydrocarbons industry. He joined KBC from Schlumberger’s Information Solutions software division in 2011 after gaining wide experience in the international oil and gas industry with BP and Hyprotech in Europe and North America. Andrew obtained a Master’s Degree in Chemical Engineering from Cambridge University. He is currently the Managing Director of KBC’s expanding software business and has pioneered KBC’s drive into the upstream oil and gas sector. Andrew joined the main board of KBC in April 2014.

Ian Godden, Executive Chairman, commented: “Andrew’s leadership experience in upstream oil and gas, refining and operating software ideally positions him to lead KBC’s expansion as a hydrocarbons technology company. From working closely with Andrew over the last three years, I know he will be an excellent long term leader for KBC, driving its three-pronged strategy: to create a much larger software business including consulting knowledge and IP, to expand its upstream services and to build further success in growth markets such as the Middle East, South America and Asia.”

Andrew Howell commented: “I am honoured to be appointed to lead this successful technology-based software and consulting group into the next stage of its growth, and I will be supported by a highly talented leadership team and organisation. Through a combination of strong organic growth and selective acquisitions, I look forward to leading the organisation in delivering on the Board’s high ambitions for KBC.”
