Kogas sales drop in October

Kogas of South Korea, the world’s largest corporate buyer of LNG, said its sales volume totaled 2.21 million mt in October, a drop of 12.1 percent as compared to the same month last year.

Sales into the power sector were at 1.14 million mt, down 14.6 percent, while the company’s city gas sales dropped 9.2 percent on year to 1.06 million mt, Kogas said in a filing to the stock exchange.

Kogas’ LNG imports dropped 14 percent in the first nine months of this year due to a decline in domestic sales.

The company imported 22.91 million mt of the chilled gas in January-September, compared to 26.61 million mt it imported last year.
