Lambertville Draft Report up for Comment

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) recently released a draft report for a flood risk management feasibility study and are accepting public comments on the proposal.

USACE and NJDEP will host a public workshop on July 29 from 4-7:30 p.m. at the Lambertville Justice Center to discuss the recommended plan detailed in the report.

The purpose of the study is to identify and evaluate potential flood risk management solutions along portions of the Delaware River in New Jersey, and to assess the feasibility of implementing the solutions.

In Lambertville, the recommended plan calls for the construction of approximately 500 feet of levee along Alexauken Creek; the construction of 1400 feet of floodwall along the Delaware & Raritan Canal; a property buyout; and the construction of interior drainage features.
