Lamprell Appoints New CEO

Lamprell, a leading provider of diversified engineering and contracting services to the onshore and offshore oil & gas and renewable energy industries, announces that James Moffat has been appointed as Chief Executive Officer effective March 1st, 2013.

Prior to his appointment, Moffat was the executive director responsible for the high profile Gorgon LNG Project in Australia. He is a highly experienced engineer and has been involved in international construction, fabrication and project management for more than 35 years. He has spent the last 16 years working for KBR Group in a variety of senior management roles. In his recent role on Gorgon, Moffat was responsible for a project that employs around 18,000 people and is one of the largest engineering projects in the world.

Before moving to KBR, Moffat was with the McDermott group, operating primarily in Asia Pacific and the UK and working in a number of managerial roles over a period of nearly 20 years. Notably, he was in charge of all aspects of fabrication, project management and engineering activities for McDermott Indonesia.

Moffat will join Lamprell on 1st March 2013, until which time Peter Whitbread will continue to act in the role of Interim CEO. Given Whitbread’s wealth of experience in the industry and long history with the Group, it is expected that, once Moffat has joined the Group, Whitbread will continue to sit on the Board of Lamprell.

Their work will continue until Mr Moffat joins us in March.”
