Lindø Port of Odense Takes Over New Quay

The Lindø port of Odense in Denmark has taken over the first stage of the future quay which will be used for the offshore wind industry.

Included in the first stage of the port expansion is 375 meters of harbor dock and a heavy-load area, which can carry up to 105,000t.

According to the port, with these new quay facilities, Lindø port of Odense will be able to meet the increasing demand in the offshore wind industry.

The final phase of the total port expansion is expected to be ready by the end of 2020. In total, Lindø port of Odense will have expanded the port quay by 1km and a total area of 400,000m2.

Recently, Lindø port of Odense signed a purchase agreement with Liebherr for a mobile harbor crane that is said to be capable of handling giant offshore wind turbines.

In combination with the Liebherr LHM 550 mobile harbor crane, the new crane will enable Lindø port of Odense to handle huge turbines of tomorrow and will allow the lifting of 400t nacelles.
