Liquiline to Provide LNG Equipment for Project in Watson Lake

Liquiline North America announced that it has been contracted to provide LNG vaporization and distribution equipment for a project being undertaken by Yukon Electrical, ATCO Gas and ATCO Energy Solutions in Watson Lake, Yukon, Canada.

The project will convert one of the six diesel-fired electrical generators at Watson Lake to a bi-fuel system able to accept natural gas. The construction and conversion is expected to begin in the spring of 2013, with start-up anticipated in the fall.

“This marks a major step in Liquiline’s development, which will be the company’s first LNG infrastructure project in North America. We are excited to be part of this pioneering project with ATCO and to be able to provide a turnkey modular LNG solution for the project”, said Calum McClure, President, Liquiline North America. “We see that there is a growing interest to provide similar solutions to off-grid consumers in Canada that can benefit from a more cost effective and cleaner burning fuel as the LNG supply chain develops.”
