Lithuania: Klaipeda LNG regas volumes plunge in 2018

Liquefied natural gas (LNG) regasification volumes at Lithuania’s first and only import terminal in the port of Klaipeda reported a significant decrease in activity year on year.
According to the data reported by the terminal operator Klaipedos Nafta, during 2018 the facility regasified and reloaded a total of 9.2 TWh of natural gas, 27.3 percent below the volumes regasified and reloaded in 2017 (12.6 TWh).
Sales revenue from the facility for 2018 totaled €64.5 million ($73.9 million) 5.8 percent below the €68.2 million recorded the previous year.
In December, the facility regasified and reloaded 0.54 TWh of natural gas 18.8 percent above the 0.46 TWh in December 2017.
Sales revenue for December dropped 3.6 percent from €5.5 million in 2017 to €5.3 million during the month under review.
