Update: Woodside still working to restore NWS LNG production

LNG player Woodside is still working to restore production at the NWS liquefied natural gas facility following a loss of power on May 5.

Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) production has been impacted and we are working to resume production,” a North West Shelf spokesperson told LNG World News in an e-mailed statement on Monday.

Pipeline gas production is not affected,” the spokesperson added.

The spokesperson did not comment on when Woodside is expecting to resume production at the 16.3 mtpa LNG plant.

Located on the Burrup Peninsula near the Port of Dampier and the town of Karratha, the North West Shelf Venture is Australia’s first LNG project.

The stakeholders in the LNG project are BHP Billiton, Chevron, BP, Japan Australia LNG, Shell and Woodside, which is the operator.
