LOC will provide marine warranty services and consulting services, and will give guidance and recommendations to contractors on how best to meet project requirements and improve the quality of operations, including better risk management.

The project will be led by the company’s renewables team based in Singapore and Thailand, with support from group companies Longitude and Innosea.

The 50 MW Hoa Binh 1 intertidal project will comprise ten Vestas 3.8 MW and three 4 MW turbines located in shallow waters close to shore in the Mekong Delta province of Bac Lieu.

According to LOC, the installation of the turbines is tide dependent, with vessels potentially sitting on the mud floor during low tide. The Vestas units will be interconnected via a link bridge, negating the need for a transfer crew boat.

The company also recently won a contract to provide marine warranty services for the first phase of the Dong Hai 1 intertidal project in Vietnam.
