LORC Component & Structure Testing Centre under Construction

The new LORC Component & Structure Testing Centre, being established in collaboration with FORCE Technology, is well under way, LORC reported.

All major investments have been realized, and the building of the facilities has commenced.

In May, all excavation was performed for the out-door structural test center. In June, piling of the foundation was completed and the top-plate, distributing the massive load of the strong-floor onto the underlying pile foundation, was cast. Work on the main foundation and reaction wall began in early August.

The establishment of the test center remains on track expected to be commissioned by end of the year.

The new test hall, planned to host the climatic test facilities, was ordered in June, and excavation and casting of the foundation started in August. The large climate chamber was ordered in the spring, and the facility is expected to be operational in early 2016.
