Mainstream Renewable Power will be holding a number of pre-application consultation events in September and October in relation to the Marine Licence(s) for the 450MW Neart na Gaoithe wind farm project offshore Scotland.

The first in a series of five consultation events will be held at the North Berwick Community Centre in North Berwick on 25 September, followed by an event at the Bleachingfield Centre in Dunbar on 26 September, the Carnoustie Golf Hotel in Carnoustie on 27 September, the Crail Community Hall in Crail on 28 September, and the St Andrews Town Hall in St Andrews on 4 October.

In May 2017, Scotland’s Inner House of the Court of Session overturned the ruling which halted further development of four wind projects with a total capacity of 2,284MW in the Firth of Forth and Firth of Tay, including Neart na Gaoithe.

Following the positive outcome of the dispute, Mainstream Renewable Power decided to speed up the development of the Neart na Gaoithe offshore wind farm to bring the project to the construction phase, planned to start in 2019.

Mainstream anticipates the GBP 2 billion Neart na Gaoithe will achieve financial close in 2018.

The project is scheduled to be delivered in 2021 at a strike price of GBP 114.39/MWh.
