Malaysia: MHB names new CEO

Malaysia Marine and Heavy Engineering Holdings Berhad (“MHB”) has appointed new managing director and Chief Executive Officer.

In a Bursa Malaysia filing, MHB, a provider of offshore solutions for the oil and gas industry, said that Tuan Haji Abu Fitri bin Abdul Jalil would Dominique de Soras, as the Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer of MHB with effect from 1 March 2015.

Dominique de Soras has served MHB as MD&CEO since February 2011 and his contract of employment will end on February 28, 2015 as approved by the Board. He will cease to be a Non-Independent Executive Director of the Board on February 28,2015 accordingly.

Tuan Haji Abu Fitri will be appointed as a Non-Independent Non-Executive Director on 1 February 2015 to facilitate the smooth transition of responsibilities before assuming the appointment as MD&CEO as well as Non-Independent Executive Director of MHB.

Tuan Haji Abu Fitri, a Malaysian aged 49 years old, is presently the Vice President, Offshore Business in MISC Berhad and his term of employment with MISC Berhad will cease on 28 February 2015.

Prior to his appointment in MISC Berhad in March 2013, he was the Senior General Manager, Petroleum Operations Management in PETRONAS.

He joined PETRONAS in January 1991 and had held various senior positions within PETRONAS both in Malaysia and overseas. Tuan Haji Abu Fitri graduated from California State University, USA with a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering (Honors).
