Marshall Islands Registry Tops 125 Million Ton Mark

The Republic of the Marshall Islands (RMI) Registry has exceeded the 125 million gross ton mark, a 25% increase in tonnage since the Registry reached 100 million gross tons in January of 2014.

As of September 30, the Registry stood at 125.5 million gross tons and over 3,640 vessels.

International Registries, Inc. and its affiliates (IRI), who provide administrative and technical support to the Republic of the Marshall Islands (RMI) Registry, has been increasing the technical experts available to owners and operators worldwide and is also opening its 27th worldwide office in Manila, the Philippines, to support this growth.

“The fleet has been growing rapidly largely in part to our ability to provide timely services through our decentralized model,” said Bill Gallagher, President of IRI.

“Opening an office in Manila is a natural fit for the Registry as more than 35% of seafarers serving on RMI flagged vessels hail from the Philippines.
