MEO appoints Managing Director (Australia)

MEO Australia, an independent oil and gas company, has said that its CEO Peter Stickland, will be appointed to the Board and will assume the role of Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer effective 30th January 2015.

Peter Stickland, previously Exploration Manager, was appointed as MEO Chief Executive Officer in December 2014, after Jürgen Hendrich stepped down as CEO, and assumed the position of Executive Director Special Projects until his departure from the company on January 31, 2015.

Stickland, whose term is for 12 months with remuneration of $400.000 per year, has over 24 year’s experience in oil and gas exploration. He was CEO of Tap Oil from 2008 until late 2010 during which time he oversaw the growth of the firm into a South East Asia/Australia focused E&P Company.

Before taking his Tap Oil role, Stickland worked for BHP Billiton, holding various technical and management roles. Stickland is a Member of the Board of Australian Petroleum Production and Exploration Association Limited (APPEA).
