Mingde Heavy Splashes XINHUI EXPRESS

Mingde Heavy Industry, on Oct. 21st, carried out the launching ceremony for Singapore-based Nova Shipping & Logistics’ second wood chip carrier, the XINHUI EXPRESS (Yard No. MD146).

The vessel features 51,800 tons of Gross tonnage and a DWT of 69,300 tons. Compared with other similar bulk ships, the ‘XINHUI EXPRESS’ possesses the characteristics of large capacity, high efficiency, environmental friendliness and energy saving.

Main dimension: Total length 199.80m; moulded breadth 32.20m; moulded depth 16.30m; design draft 11.00m; scantling draft 11.90m; service speed 16.3kn.

The American Bureau of Shipping is in charge of classing the ship.

Delivery of the vessel is scheduled for the second quarter of 2014.
