Minister Oliver to Deliver Keynote Address at Canada LNG Export Forum

The growing calls for Canada to create new jobs and mirror the economic boom created in the United States by shale gas, has centred around the potentials of exporting liquefied natural gas (LNG) to lucrative new markets in Asia. The consumption of natural gas in Asia is rising rapidly and Canada’s opportunities to export one of its most abundant resources will be discussed and debated at a top political, regulatory and commercial level this year, at the Canada LNG Export Forum, being held between the 17 – 19 September in Calgary, Alberta.

Joe Oliver, Canada’s Minister of Natural Resources will be joining the major debate with a keynote address on Thursday 19th September, with other influencers sharing their views, including; Kenneth Gee, Vice President Western Canada Marketing & Origination from BP Canada, (discussing the key challenges and opportunities in developing LNG export projects in Canada); and Dr Mitchell Baer, Director, Office of Oil and Gas Analysis from the United States Department of Energy who will be disclosing current developments for shale gas and its impact on the global marketplace.

The event has already gained the interest of major Asian stakeholders including Tokyo Gas, Osaka Gas, China Capital Fund, JBIC, and JOGMEC, and welcomes major industry support from engineering firms, legal firms and analyst including; Norton Rose Fulbright, Deloitte, AG&P, GTT, Wison, Fluor, WorleyParsons, CDS Research Ltd, Aecon and just recently AMEC.

The Canada LNG Export Forum takes place between 17 – 19 September 2013, and will uncover the unique strategic and commercial opportunities for producers and project developers to capitalize on exporting Canadian LNG to the Asia-Pacific markets.
