MMS Launches Its First Offshore Wind Catamaran

Hull-based MMS Ship Repair has launched MMS Crusader, its first workboat specially built to serve the offshore wind industry, according to Hull Daily Mail.

The vessel, a 26m aluminium catamaran, has been built at the company’ shipyard at Alexandra Dock for MMS Offshore Renewable Services, MMS’ subsidiary operating offshore renewables vessels.

MMS Crusader has been developed to service a multitude of roles within the renewable energy sector and can support development and construction, operation and maintenance. It can accommodate up to 16 personnel and is capable of providing a range of services to the offshore wind industry, such as crew transfer, supply of equipment, and offshore survey work.

The vessel is scheduled to be ready for operation at the beginning of September.
