During the event, Mojo’s Managing Director Richard Parkinson will talk to attendees about the way new vessel designs such as the HF4 have the potential to drive down the risks and costs associated with subsea cable installations.

The size of the vessel, combined with its high performance capabilities, makes it the perfect tool for a wide range of tasks, including inter-array cable installation, trenching and remedial works in offshore wind farms.

Compared to more traditional offshore construction vessels, the HF4’s unique thruster set-up provides increased flexibility, allowing the vessel to lay cables closer to offshore structures. With its ample deck space, the vessel can carry and install up to 6 inter array cables. The vessel’s power supply systems have been designed to allow use of the latest cable trenching equipment more efficiently, thereby reducing installation time and costs.

Mojo Maritime have performed a significant amount of subsea cable analysis, engineering, operational planning and installation services for its tidal energy and offshore wind clients. This has enabled them to develop a comprehensive awareness of the risks and effects of sub-optimal cable installation, and the capabilities with which to tackle them.

Richard Parkinson, Managing Director of Mojo: “With subsea cable issues being a key driver of offshore project delays and the main subject of insurance claims, the use of optimised methods and tools is of upmost Importance to the offshore wind industry.”
