More Peruvian LNG heading for Mexico

Mexico is set to receive another cargo of liquefied natural gas from Peru following a recent departure of an LNG carrier from Pampa Melchorita.

According to the shipping data released by the state-owned Perupetro, the 138 000 cbm Sestao Knutsen LNG carrier left the liquefaction plant on March 8.

The 2007-built LNG carrier is probably heading for Mexico’s Manzanillo LNG terminal in the state of Colima. Sestao Knutsen delivered a Peruvian cargo to the terminal in January, prior to the export halt caused by a pipeline leak.

With the latest shipment, Peru’s 4.4 mtpa liquefaction plant dispatched 312 cargoes in total, since it began operations in June 2010.
