More Qatari LNG for UK’s South Hook terminal

The UK’s largest LNG terminal is set to receive another Qatari cargo of the chilled gas next week.

One of the biggest LNG vessels in the world, the 266,000 cbm Q-Max carrier Umm Slal, is expected to dock at the South Hook terminal in Milford Haven on May 29, port data shows.

This is the second shipment for the £1 billion LNG terminal scheduled for the next week, and eight delivery of Qatari LNG during the month of May.

Fully commissioned in 2010, South Hook LNG has the capacity to process 15.6 million tonnes of the chilled gas annually, representing around 20% of the UK’s current natural gas needs.
