Norwegian shipping company Eidesvik Offshore has entered into an agreement with compatriot oil company Equinor for extension of contracts for two platform supply vessels (PSVs).

The vessel owner said on Wednesday that the contract for Viking Avant has been extended through 2019, and the contract for Viking Energy has been extended through April 2020.

The contracts are made at current market terms, the company added.

Eidesvik CEO, Jan Fredrik Meling, said: “Both vessels have been working for Equinor since delivered as newbuilds in 2004 and 2003, respectively, and we are very pleased that Equinor again show confidence in us through contract extensions.”

The 2004-built Viking Avant platform supply vessel is of a VS 493 PSV design and the 2003-built Viking Energy is of a VS 4403 PSV design.
