MRE Powers Up Gode Wind

Manor Renewable Energy (MRE) is supplying temporary power to DONG Energy’s Gode Wind offshore wind project.

MRE has provided temporary power pods designed and manufactured in-house, with a 2000l integrated fuel tank to minimise the constant refuelling and vessel intervention of smaller units, and delivered within 4 weeks after the order was placed.

MRE Project Director, Toby Mead, said: “It’s been a pleasure to work with DONG and to build the perfect solution for the Gode Wind TP design; this capability combined with owning a large stock of generators and our soon to be complete new build vessel, the ‘MRE Venture’, will give us the vehicle to drive forward with an all-encompassing temporary power offering.”

The Gode Wind project, comprising two wind farms, is located in the German sector of the North Sea at a distance of 40km from shore. All 97 Siemens 6MW turbines at Gode Wind 1 and 2 offshore wind project were installed in May. The offshore wind farms have a total capacity of 582MW and will provide green energy to approx. 600.000 German households.
