MSC Cruises Acquires Interest in Trieste Cruise Terminal

Switzerland-based cruise company MSC Cruises has acquired a significant interest in Trieste Adriatic Marine Initiatives (TAMI), a strategic holding company of the cruise terminal Trieste Terminal Passeggeri (TTP).

The company has not disclosed the amount of money invested in the terminal.

Following this investment, MSC Cruises plans to develop homeporting operations in Trieste starting in summer 2020.

“This investment will support MSC Cruises’ long-standing objective of providing enhanced and seamless experiences for cruise guests right from the point of embarkation onwards,” the company said today in a statement.

The announcement came on the same day when the company celebrated a steel cutting ceremony for MSC Seashore, the first ship of two new Seaside EVO class of ships.

The ceremony took place at Fincantieri’s shipyard in Monfalcone.

Coming into service in spring 2021, MSC Seashore is the seventh ship to be built under the company’s ten-year development plan including seventeen new ships and will become the nineteenth ship MSC Cruises has built.
