The Papua New Guinea-focused oil and gas producer and PNG LNG stakeholder, Oil Search said that Susan Cunningham and Bakheet Al Katheeri will be named as non-executive directors of the company.

The appointments, taking effect from March 26, have been made to fill the vacancies created by resignations of Gerea Aopi earlier in the month and Keith Spence in October last year, the company said in a statement.

Al Katheeri has been the chief executive officer of Mubadala Petroleum since March 2017.

Prior to his appointment as CEO, he held the positions of chief growth officer, responsible for all of Mubadala Petroleum’s new business development and M&A activity, and chief operating officer, overseeing both operated and non-operated assets and United Arab Emirates (UAE) gas supply.

He has more than 20 years of diverse operating and management experience in the oil and gas industry. Al Katheeri chairs Emirates LNG Company and the project review committee for Dolphin Energy.

Mubadala Investment Company (Mubadala), the parent company of Mubadala Petroleum, has a relevant interest of 12.9 percent in the shares of Oil Search.

Cunningham began her career as a geologist and held various exploration and development positions at Amoco Production Company, Statoil and Texaco, including serving as Vice President of Texaco’s core worldwide exploration activities.

From 2005 to 2014, she was a director of Cliffs Natural Resources, an iron ore and metallurgical coal mining company.
