Neptune Delivers for BP

Energy industry specialist, Neptune, has completed the latest installation in a subsea project delivered on behalf of BP.

Namely, the firm’s subsea, design and manufacturing expertise is being utilised to provide wellhead integrity systems for use on BP’s Quad204 programme.

An offshore team from Neptune was mobilised in January to complete the installation of the fourth and fifth systems in a series of eight, with the remaining equipment to be delivered in 2016.

The systems have been designed, engineered and manufactured in the north-east as part of a solution provided by Neptune’s team as part of a growing offering from its facilities in Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire.

NEPTUNE_003aKevin Stephen, operations and business development director for Europe, Mediterranean and Africa, said: “Neptune has been progressively building its reputation for subsea expertise in delivering innovative and effective solutions. This project is another example of the flexible and dynamic approach we take to developing solutions to meet the challenges faced by our clients.

Design and manufacture is an increasingly important aspect of what has become a diverse range of services and products we provide, with a growing track record and a reputation for quality and reliability which is serving us well as we explore new opportunities both in the North Sea market and further afield.

Quad204 represents one of the most significant projects ongoing in the region and we are delighted to be supporting BP with a wellhead  strengthening design solution for such an important field development. Our assembly and testing facilities offer a great advantage as we seek to grow in the months and years ahead.”

The project is one of a number of collaborations between Neptune and BP, with a diver deployed tree valve permanent reinstatement system (PCOL) commissioned and fully operational as well as an ROV valve override system which has been built and tested ahead of deployment.

Stephen added: “We have enjoyed a very positive start to 2016, with several contract wins from across our client base. One of the most pleasing aspects is the variety in what we are being awarded, bringing work to divisions throughout the business and particularly in manufacturing, assembly and testing.

“We also have exciting plans in the pipeline for our ROV team in addition to developments in decommissioning capabilities and aspirations to target entirely new markets. The energy industry is clearly a changing landscape at present and we are determined to maintain the commitment to evolution which has been such a major part of Neptune’s success.”
