Neptune said that Pete Jones was named as the VP of operations for Europe. Jones is currently managing director of Neptune’s UK business.

Jones joined Neptune in August 2018 and has overseen the growth of the UK business, including the sanctioning and development of its Seagull project, which is due for first production in 2021.

The company also announced that Philip Lafeber will join the executive management team in his current role as VP of operations for North Africa and Asia Pacific. Both roles will report to Neptune CEO Jim House.

VP of operations Bruce Webb will leave the business after having played a crucial role in achieving first production at the Touat gas development in Algeria.

House said: “Pete’s energy, passion, and vision have been key to driving success in our UK business, and we look forward to him growing our European operations, which include key projects in the UK and Norway.

“By splitting the global operations role, we will bring enhanced focus on our key regions at an important time for the business that will see us delivering an extra 100 kboepd in the coming years.”

The company added that the process for appointing a new Managing Director for the UK was underway. In the interim, Jones will continue to oversee operations in the country.
