New Assignments for Blue Water Shipping

New Assignments for Blue Water Shipping

For three years, Blue Water Shipping has been working on several interesting assignments during the construction of Denmark’s largest wind farm – Anholt Offshore Wind Farm – which was opened in September.

More than 3.000 people have been working on site during the project phase, and over 100 ships have been involved. Thus, the coordination and services offered to the different Danish and international operators were essential.

“Since the beginning of the project in 2010, Blue Water has acted as agent and liaison with all operators involved working as one-point-of-contact for Djurs Wind Power, which is a consolidation of local companies within the offshore industry”, says General Manager from Blue Water Grenaa, Frank Larsen.

Blue Water has assisted with many practical tasks such as providing rental cars, accommodation, phones, advanced equipment for drilling and measuring, storage of transformers and delivering steel constructions, machinery and crew.

“Based on the positive feedback we have received, we gather, that there has been a great deal of satisfaction with the way we have solved the assignments locally – and this is in large part due to our close cooperation with Djurs Wind Power. The good dialogue with our clients has already resulted in new assignments for us both at home and abroad, and we are looking forward to assist on more projects in the future”, says Frank Larsen.

Anholt Offshore Wind Farm is placed on an 88 square kilometre area and with 111 3.6 MW Siemens wind turbines it supplies about 400.000 households. The energy group, Dong Energy, is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the wind farm, and has established administration and operation facilities in Grenaa.
