Oceanera-Net sets €17 million call for ocean energy developers

A new funding call will be launched in March 2017 to support transnational collaborative projects aiming to demonstrate and validate new ocean energy technologies.

The call, to be opened on March 20, 2017, will offer funding for projects expected to include wave and tidal energy devices, components and subsystems, moorings, foundations, electrical systems, installation, and operation and maintenance services.

The project is cofunded by the Horizon 2020 Framework Programme of the European Union and a consortium of 8 national and regional government agencies from across Europe.

The Oceanera-Net Cofund project will run from 2018 until 2021.

Qualifying projects must have a minimum of two independent partners from two different countries, while research organizations can be involved as consortium partners but projects should be industry led, according to the Scottish Enterprise.
