NextDecade Launches to Meet Energy, LNG Needs of Markets, Countries Worldwide (USA)

Energy industry veteran Kathleen Eisbrenner has announced the launch of NextDecade, a newly formed integrated international natural gas and LNG business.

NextDecade will monetize smaller-size natural gas fields using small and mid scale floating liquefaction and integrate the gas value chain by bringing upstream and downstream assets together in flexible, creative ways that will maximize value for all parties involved.

NextDecade is privately owned by founder Kathleen Eisbrenner and other partners, and will be based in the Houston community of The Woodlands, Texas.

The company’s objective is to become the “partner for innovation” with upstream natural gas producers, LNG technology providers, LNG ship-owners, and downstream natural gas and power markets worldwide.

Eisbrenner is CEO of NextDecade and brings more than 30 years of industry experience to the organization.

From 2007 through 2009, she was executive vice president of Royal Dutch Shell plc, responsible for its global LNG business.

In 2003, she founded Excelerate Energy, a global importer and marketer of LNG, and served as its president and CEO until 2007.

She also previously served in various senior leadership positions with U.S. energy companies, including El Paso Corporation, and most recently as head of the Houston office of Poten & Partners Project Development Group.

Eisbrenner was recently elected to the Board of Chesapeake Energy Corporation, the second largest natural gas producer in the United States.

NextDecade is currently working exclusively with TMT of Taiwan on the business development of its Powerful Ships™ − the CrystalSky and ClearSky − the most innovative LNG vessels available today, capable of providing 30 MW or more of gas-fired power to coastal areas worldwide, 173,000 m(3) of LNG storage, ice-class protection and dynamic positioning.

Powerful Ships™ can also be adapted to Hybrid Vessels™ to provide regasification of LNG in addition to electric power.

The unique combination of product offerings raises the bar in LNG shipping innovation.
