NGV Coalition Welcomes New Members

Florida Natural Gas Vehicle Coalition announced the addition of three new members: United Parcel Service (UPS), the United States Sugar Corporation and Clean Energy-all leaders in their respective industries.

Clean Energy is the largest provider of natural gas fuel for transportation in North America and a global leader in the expanding natural gas vehicle market. It has operations in CNG and LNG vehicle fueling, construction and operation of CNG and LNG fueling stations, biomethane production, vehicle conversion and compressor technology. Clean Energy recently opened its first two CNG stations in Florida at the Tampa and Orlando airports that are open to the public.

UPS is the world’s largest package delivery company, in terms of revenue and volume, and a global leader in supply chain solutions.

United States Sugar Corporation is a technologically-advanced agricultural and food manufacturing company which produces sugar and citrus products for a variety of national and global brands.

Eric Criss, President of the Beer Industry of Florida and Chairman of the Florida Natural Gas Vehicle Coalition, enthusiastically embraced the new coalition members: “We are extremely pleased to have these iconic companies join our efforts to improve the environment and promote natural gas vehicles. UPS, U.S. Sugar, and Clean Energy are on the cutting edge of environmentally-friendly business practices and we are indeed grateful for their participation.”

In August, the coalition released a Florida-focused Economic Impact Study showing that Natural Gas Vehicle (NGV) incentives could create over 10,000 jobs, $300 million in new wages and $1 billion dollars in economic output in that state over two decades.
