Niestern Sander Begins Geo Ranger Construction with Arrival of First Steel

Royal Niestern Sander has received first steel at the shipyard for the new hydrographic survey vessel ‘Geo Ranger’.

Following the delivery of the steel Niestern Sander started the construction of the first section of the vessel, the company informed through social media.

In the end of April, Niestern Sander and Geo Plus signed the contract for the building of the hydrographic survey vessel Geo Ranger.

This vessel, 41,00 meters long with a beam of 8,70 meters, was designed together with Conoship International, and will be built under the supervision of Lloyd’s Register.

Recently Niestern Sander awarded Alewijnse Marine a contract for the delivery of the complete electrical installation onboard the Geo Ranger.

Alewijnse Marine is responsible for the complete electric and automation outfitting.

The vessel is scheduled for completion in April 2020.
